How to remove powered by attribution in blogger blog




Blogger has been a very famous and easy to use platform for bloggers. It provides you with many features in it like contact form, HTML/JavaScript widget, etc. You must have noticed at the end of the blog there is a statement by default which says something like "Powered by Blogger" this is called attribution. But if you go to layout you will see
that you cannot remove it from your blog by default in blogger. But sometimes when you want to modify your theme using template editor or some CSS then that attribution (Powered by blogger) does not match up with your blog or if you want to remove it then here are 2 methods from which you can use anyone to remove that powered by blogger attribution.

Method 1: Hiding attribution using CSS

If you are having problem using the Method 2 then use this Method1 or if you are having problem using this Method 1 then try the Method 2 shown below.
  1. Login into your blogger account and click on the blog in which you want to remove the "powered by blogger" attribution.
  2. Now dashboard of that blog will open, now navigate to template option on the left side.And the template editor will be opened.

  3. In template editor place your cursor and then press CTRL + F (this will open find box) , Then in the find box type ]]></b:skin> and press enter to find that code.
  4. Now just above ]]></b:skin> add the code given below
  5. #Attribution1 {display: none;}
    
    Press the copy button to copy the above code.
  6. Then click save template option above the template editor.
  7. Check your blog and attribution will be removed from your blog.

Method 2: Hiding attribution by changin a HTML attribute value

If you are having problem using This Method 2 the use Method 1 shown  above or If you are having any difficulty using the Method 1 then use the Method 2 :
  1. Login into your blogger account and click on the blog in which you want to remove the "powered by blogger" attribution.
  2. Now dashboard of that blog will open, now navigate to template option on the left side.And the template editor will be opened.

  3. In template editor place your cursor and then press CTRL + F (this will open find box) , Then in the find box type attribution and press enter to find that code.and then you will get a line of code as in the image shown below.
  4. Now change locked='true' to locked='false' and then click save template option above the template editor to save the changes.

  5. Then navigate to layout option in left side. Then scroll down until you find attribution widget in the layout and click edit in front of it.

  6. Then a windows will open in that window click remove button and then in layout click save arrangement and the attribution will be removed.
